About Anfi Tauro Golf Course

Anfi Tauro Golf is a stunning oasis for year-round golf, thanks to Gran Canaria's seemingly never ending mild climate and Anfi Tauro's breathtaking landscape.
Anfi Tauro's 9-hole and 18-hole golf courses are set among a spectacular landscape of palm trees, lakes and volcanic mountains. Designed by world leading golf course designers, von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, they offer the perfect balance between beauty and challenge.


Architect von Hagge, Smelek and Baril is recognized in actuality to be one of the world's ten most prestigious golf-course architects, and has received worldwide acknowledgement having designed more than a thousand golf-courses, including the Doral Country Club in Florida, the Costa Resort and Spa in California and the Horai Club in Japan. Their projects stand out for their style, subtle elegance and outstanding beauty of which Anfi Tauro is a distinguished example.

Opening of the first 9 holes of the Anfi Tauro 18-hole championship golf course

The official opening of the first 9 holes of the Anfi Tauro Golf 18-hole championship golf course took place on 3rd November 2006. Among the numerous attendees were Juan José Cardona, vice-president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria; Francisco Gonzalez, Mayor of Mogán and Concepción Narvaez, Mayoress of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The championship course was designed by American architects von Hagge, Smelek and Baril, some of the best golf course designers worldwide. Rick Baril, also present at the event, quoted the founder of the Anfi Group, recently deceased Björn Lyng, "There is no need to think about small projects, you always have to think big; because only big projects touch the soul of people."


The facilities at Anfi Tauro Golf already include a par 3 Pitch & Putt, a Driving Range and Putting Green, and the remaining 9 holes of the championship course will be opened in the first half of 2007, together with the Club House.

The 18 hole coming soon

A stunning 18 hole championship golf course is currently under construction on a magnificent 650,000m² site and the first 9 holes will be completed in the summer of 2006. The Arizona style course will be finalised during 2007. The numerable tees on the course will speed up play and offer all level players a challenging and entertaining game.
